Visited Puglia some years back and sampled a lot of the local wine which must have included some Appassimento though at the time wasnt aware of its significance. It was a very memorable trip in many ways but undoubtedly helped by great food and drink . Appassimento is a very distinctive full taste and I personally like it but it needs 'full tasting' food to go with it. Before lock down had an Italian friend staying - very impressed that I was able to buy such an unusual wine locally! Thank you
